Mark Young spent six years traveling the Atlantic coast studying Victorian homes and decor to cobble together what he considers a workable idea for Houston.
Young's company, Evergreen Land and Development, is creating a Victorian-style neighborhood, composed of 98 homes in League City, located about one-and-a-half miles from Interstate 45.
"I traveled all over the United States -- mostly up north -- to put together from several neighborhoods the idea we've come up with for down here," he says.
From the time Young was in grade school, he was exposed to antiques and antiquity through relatives in the retailing end of the business. Other relations he visited lived in the Houston Heights, a model Victorian province.
But today, no home construction is exclusively Victorian -- a niche that's been popular …
