GAINESVILLE, Fla. _ Florida spent all week trying to find some way to stop Florida State receiver Peter Warrick, but defensive coordinator Jon Hoke said the Gators forgot all the lessons they learned.

In researching Warrick, Hoke enlisted the help of Florida reserve safety Reggie Davis, a teammate of Warrick's at Bradenton Southeast High.

``We did everything in the book,'' said Florida cornerback Bennie Alexander, who had to cover Warrick all game.

Davis met with Hoke every day to discuss Warrick's tendencies, and Hoke came away sure of one thing.

Warrick cuts back when he gets stopped in one direction.

The Gators learned that firsthand on Warrick's 4-yard first-quarter touchdown run. Florida defenders forced Warrick to the left hashmark , but the receiver simply reversed field and sprinted in for the score. …
