CNN Financial Network makes Asia-Pacific debut on Optus TV.

SYDNEY - Ted Turner, vice-chairman of Time Warner, Inc., has announced that CNN's financial network, CNNfn, will launch in Australia on Optus Television on Jan. 1. Mr. Turner made the announcement while visiting Australia to launch the 2001 Goodwill Games, which will be hosted in Brisbane.

"We are pleased to provide a new and important window into the fascinating world of business and finance to all Optus Television viewers," Mr. Turner said. "It is especially gratifying to bring CNNfn to Australia as the first extension of the service in the Asia-Pacific region."
