Box manufacturer bids for space at McClellan.

A cardboard box manufacturer based in West Sacramento is negotiating the first big private-sector lease at McClellan Air Force Base.

The company, Sacramento Container Corp., could occupy more than 100,000 square feet of space, said Rob Leonard, Sacramento County's director of military base conversion.

"It would be the largest private operation on base," Leonard said.

Sacramento Container's president, Joseph LeRoy, confirmed he is negotiating for approximately 100,000 square feet.
