Dayton wants Jungle Jim's downtown.

A group of Dayton business owners are asking customers to put their names on the line to help get a specialty grocer -- possibly Jungle Jim's international market in Fairfield -- in downtown Dayton.

Petitions sitting on retail store counters and circulating in neighborhoods -- such as Dayton's Oregon District and South Park -- will be used as part of a larger campaign to sell a handful of regional grocers on downtown. Among those said to be targets of the petitions are Jungle Jim's and Dayton's Dorothy Lane Market.

Spearheading the campaign are architects and Dayton developers Beth Duke and David Williams.
