Plans still alive for two Muvico complexes

A deal to put a 20-screen theater, restaurants and stores in Quantum Corporate Park is dead, but the outcome could actually be two new movie theaters in Boynton Beach.

Fort Lauderdale-based Muvico Theaters, which owns eight theaters statewide, said it's scouting for another site in Boynton Beach after the deal at Quantum died. Meanwhile, the park's owner said it's negotiating with another movie chain.

Why the deal died is a whodunit.

Muvico signed a deal in September to buy the Quantum acreage from the park's new owners, MFT Development. That deal was called off last month before the contract was …
