Hello, I've spoken before the Rotary at different opportunities ... when I needed your help on a community project, or we were working together on something else important. It is such a wonderful, powerful and effective "serving" organization.
I also want to say hello and thank you to my Carlson family and to some of our very valued customers in attendance who have chosen to honor us as a partner; and to so many of you whom I have known and worked with so many years.
It is extraordinary to be part of such a community for a long time. It's a gift. We knew each other's parents. It is now our children who are working together. And that's what, after all, community is.
It's too bad that on the Internet in a chat room that you can't touch and feel and look into the eyes of someone, isn't it? But in a community you can.
I'm not going to talk today about global business and the challenge of the global marketplace though with your international focus for Rotary that would be an appropriate …
