The reach and visibility of South Africa's flag carrier, South African Airways, has grown far beyond the country's borders as the once-shunned nation has rejoined the global trading arena. SAA's cargo division has used a relatively stable home economy - stable by African standards, of course - as a foundation for greater business between the rest of Africa and other continents.

"We have experienced a significant increase in volumes - particularly between South Africa's major trading partners in Europe and North America," said a spokesman for SAA Cargo.
