KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- The proposed think-tank to formulate long-term strategies to face globalisation must be independent and able to generate ideas freely, said the executive director of the Malaysian Strategic and Research Centre, Abdul Razak Baginda today.

He said such a body must be able to work independently in terms of thinking and nurturing ideas and be allowed to function dynamically.

"I hope this body will be independent so that it will be able to exercise a large degree of criticism. We have to remember that the nature of a think-tank is of generating ideas and challenging those ideas," he told Bernama when commenting on the 2000 Budget …
