HAVING succeeded in making consumers almost believe that a PC isn't one without an Intel inside, the company is now re-booting to gear up for the imminent Internet revolution. With e-business and digital economy well on their way in, the chip-maker (with reportedly over 90 per cent of the PC market) has decided it is time to signal that it is a player to reckon with in the virtual world as well.

Last month, Intel Corporation unveiled two new campaigns in print and on the Web to highlight the company's Internet-related technologies. This month, it has on air a couple of new television commercials that feature fantasies coming real on Web sites optimised for the Intel Pentium III processor. Subsequent ads will focus on new offerings such as Internet services and networking products.

The company has also launched Intel Online Services, a new company that provides Internet hosting services to customers across the world. …
