Moving from high school to college can be a difficult transition, both academically and financially.
Some Maricopa County community colleges are hoping to help students with that transition. Through dual or concurrent enrollment plans high school students can start earning college credit before graduation.
And they don't have to leave their high school campuses.
"It gives the students a benefit to get a head start on college, the parents are saving money and the high school benefits from having additional resources," said Janine Sandro, coordinator of instructional programs for Rio Salado Community College.
