Contra Costa Gets $500,000 Boost.

One-time infusion of much-needed funds to be spent on collection

The Contra Costa County Library, Pleasant Hill, CA, received $500,000 to buttress its ailing materials budget. The funding was part of a $2.2 million rebate from the state, which had taken too much money from local government. Others benefiting include the sheriff's department, mental health operations, and animal welfare services. "This is a one-time infusion of money," Acting County Librarian Anne Cain told LJ.
