New company offers warehouse software for broad range of hardware platforms

In the wake of the merger of Dallas Systems and Neptune Systems, the new EXE Technologies last month introduced its combined warehouse management system software line, Exceed. The WMS software runs on platforms ranging from a desktop server to an IBM 390 mainframe, EXE said.

When the Dallas-Neptune merger took place in August, Dallas brought WMS applications for mainframe and UNIX platforms to the table, while Neptune offered Windows NT technology and a packaged software business model. The new line of EXE software combines elements from both companies' product lines.

And the applications are all highly scaleable, EXE claimed, meaning they can be deployed by large and small operations. "EXceed products offer a solution for all companies, regardless of size," said Ray Hood, president of the new software firm and former …
