Quad to hire 300 in West Allis.(Quad/Graphics Inc.)

Quad/Graphics Inc. has acquired a 9-acre parcel next to its West Allis production plant, where the company is planning another $9 million expansion that will create 300 more jobs.

Claire Ho, spokeswoman for the Pewaukee-based printing company, confirmed it had purchased the lot northwest of its West Allis facility at 555 S. 108th St. for an undisclosed price.

A source familiar with the transaction said the price was about $35,000 an acre, or $315,000.

"We did purchase that outlot," Ho said. "The purchase will be for future expansion, but as far as any specifics on how or when we expand, we don't have that information."
