U.S., state, local agencies crack down on bigger billings

A rare partnership among federal, state and local medical agencies has been formed to crack down on Medicare fraud in Miami-Dade County medical clinics.

The U.S. Health Care Financing Administration and its Operation Restore Trust program have partnered with the state's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and the Dade County Medical Association to review billing records in medical clinics that operate under Medicare-approved doctors. The goal is to get doctors working with the agencies to stop fraudulent billing they may not realize occurs.
