With the speed of a modem and the click of a mouse, staffing companies are widening their pools of prospective job candidates and chances at successful career matchmaking.

Online recruiting is changing the staffing industry and becoming an essential technique for employee placement firms looking to stay competitive.

"We've been using the Internet from day one," said Tracie McGill, owner of Computer Management Technologies of Arizona Inc. in Tempe. "I couldn't afford to do it any other way."
