Miami firm to build tower near Sawgrass Mills.(Parmenter Co.)

A Miami developer has snagged a $140 million portfolio from NationsBank and plans to build the tallest suburban office building in Broward County.

The Parmenter Co.'s new 1.4 million-square-foot portfolio features 24 office buildings statewide, including nine South Florida locations and the landmark NationsBank Tower in Jacksonville.

NationsBank's Florida headquarters sits within that 660,000-square-foot tower, which is the most recognizable office building in Jacksonville.

The banking giant also holds 10-year leases in the portfolio's other buildings, which range between 20,000 and 40,000 square feet in South Florida. Most of the buildings house …
