West Milwaukee, a village beleaguered by abandoned industrial property, is on the verge of just such a revival.
A local developer, whom village officials decline to identify, has signed a letter of intent to purchase 22 acres of razed land on the west side of South 43rd Street between West Greenfield Avenue and Mitchell Street. The site is about one mile south of Miller Park.
The developer plans to construct about $18 million in retail and commercial buildings at the site, which is the former home of a Rexnord Corp. founds.
