Deal to lease St. Paul fell through once, but execs are trying again

MEDICAL CENTER - Parkland Health & Hospital System has re-established preliminary talks with Texas Health Resources to lease neighboring St. Paul Medical Center.

Texas Health abruptly ended negotiations with Parkland last month, saying it was unable to reach an agreement on financial issues.

But on Wednesday, Parkland board Chairman Cliff Boyd and Texas Health's Southwest Health Systems board Chairman J. Andy Thompson met to discuss reactivating plans to have the crowded 940-bed county hospital lease space in the 540-bed Catholic hospital on Harry Hines Boulevard.
