Md Rafie bin Abd Latif landed Brunei a bronze in taekwondo yesterday at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Brigade Headquarters at the Old Airport Road.
In the men's flyweight quarterfinals, Md Rafie and Kolakot Simoungsong from Laos fought out a 3-3 draw but the Bruneian won the match on points basis.
In the medal round (semifinals), Md Rafie squared up against the eventual champion from Singapore, S Sinnathurai. The Singaporean was too strong for Md Rafie and he lost 1-5, with four of the points coming for Sinnathurai in the first round of the match.
