Author Phoebe Eng seeks to empower Asian-American women.

The man screaming at Phoebe Eng was her boss, a partner at one of New York's top international law firms, where she worked as an attorney.

He was livid because a legal document she handled did not have a three-hole punch and the signature was not signed in blue ink.

In a litany of insults mixed with fist-pounding on her desk, he questioned her English skills and berated her overall level of intelligence.

Eng first attempted the diplomatic approach and tried to reason with her temperamental boss. When that didn't work, she loudly and pointedly cursed him out.

For those who buy into stereotypes, that is not the way an Asian-American woman is expected to behave.
