Boxing promoter Don King's plan for a swift turnaround for the Palm Beach Jai Alai fronton may not be a one-two punch.
The fronton's long-standing development restrictions could pose a challenge for King's ambitious plan to reopen the long-abandoned Mangonia Park facility as a world-class boxing and entertainment arena within a year.
The 275,000-square-foot fronton, which King's wife, Henrietta, bought last month for $6.25 million, is a 20-year-old development of regional impact, a state-mandated planning designation for large projects.
