Market Place push disturbs deed holders

DOWNTOWN - The company tapped by Mayor Tom Murphy to transform the retail corridor on Fifth and Forbes avenues into a ritzy shopping, destination has assembled a color brochure marketing the $400 million project.

The catch is that Chicago-based Urban Retail Properties Co. doesn't yet own any of the properties it is illustrating in the promotional material.

"It's being marketed subject to availability," stressed Mulugett a Birru, executive director of the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the city's redevelopment arm.
