Dili, E Timor, July 27 (ANTARA) - Influential Moslem leader, Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, and Dili Bishop Carlos Belo on Tuesday called on the East Timorese to accept the result of the UN-sponsored autonomy ballot to be held late next month.

The two figures met at Belo's residence here regarding the direct ballot which will enable the East Timorese to accept or reject a wide-ranging autonomy offered by the Indonesian government to East Timor.

"Gus Dur's visit aims to convince all parties to accept the ballot's result -- whatever it may be. This is in line with the agreement reached during the second round of reconciliation talks in Jakarta last June," Belo …
