WHO can resist a steaming bowlful of hearty soup? Not me. When I heard that chef Gary Lim has been fussing around his cauldrons at the Legend Natural Cuisine, I simply had to tell Lizzie to meet me there.

We run through the menu for Hearty Soups and indeed they all sound like a whole meal in themselves.

"That's the idea," says Gary. "Malaysians generally love soup. Since many people don't want heavy meals especially during the lunch hour, we are offering them a light option of wholesome single course serving in a soup."

The soups come in two sizes - as an appetiser and as a main course (prices given are for both). There are eight items on the menu. The tortillas soup …
