One of the most puzzling and least-often acknowledged menopause difficulties is cognitive and memory change. Women talk about it sometimes to each other, but physicians have not been quick to validate a certain "syndrome" of mental changes.

I have been asked about it and have even promised to write about it, but have done so only in passing because so little information has been available. One exception is Barbara Sherwin Ph.D.'s research at McGill University in Canada. She found estrogen had an effect on certain specific verbal skills.
