A local medical rehabilitation company sued a Sacramento home-health agency last month for lack of payment - evidence that healthcare companies continue to struggle under pay cuts in the Medicare program.

Burger Rehabilitation Systems filed the complaint in Sacramento County Superior Court on May 18 against Chicken Soup, Plus Inc.

Burger claims that Chicken Soup Plus owes $30,540 on a contract, dated March 4, 1998. Burger provided physical, occupational and speech therapy services to Medicare patients under the contract.
