Not only was Dobbs CNN's lead anchor for its financial news coverage, the 19-year Turner vet was also chief of cable web CNNfn and a top CNN exec, with 350 staffers reporting to him.

Most importantly, Dobbs was arguably CNN's biggest single profit center.
Because of Dobbs' ability to draw an audience with a high concentration of corporate CEOs and other wealthy viewers, advertisers pay a relative fortune to buy spots on the "Moneyline NewsHour With Lou Dobbs" (see chart).
