'I've always been intrigued by the world of business in general and I've always been relatively ambitious," says Lynn Jeanniot, the newly appointed executive director of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. A Montreal native, Jeanniot believes her interest in business came from a need to be challenged: "I saw school as a challenge, I see my job as a challenge and I'm motivated by challenge."

A graduate of the University of Montreal (honours bachelor's degree in industrial relations, 1981) and the University of Quebec at Montreal (honours MBA, 1993), she claims she "pretty much fell into banking" after attending university career fairs where she met some interesting …
