Gap Inc. may dock a battleship-sized Old Navy store in the old McAlpin's building on Fourth Street.

Executives with the San Francisco-based retailer visited the downtown site in early May, and may open a store of up to 60,000 square feet on the first two floors of the former department store building, vacant since McAlpin's dosed its doors in 1996. The store would be one of the largest in Old Navy's chain of 400-plus stores and the largest non-department store in downtown Cincinnati.
