Entrepreneur markets pager that alerts patients to medicine times and provides personalized instructions

It can be hard to remember to take a medication anyway, let alone when there's a medicine cabinet full of prescriptions.

To combat the problem of prescription non-compliance and carve its way into a potentially lucrative niche market, MedPrompt, a Houston-based company with a new Pittsburgh franchise, is marketing specially modified pagers that remind patients to take those pills.

Peter McQuillen bought the local MedPrompt master franchise in December for $100,000.

Now, he's working to get pharmacies, hospitals and other medical facilities to stock information about the service.
