Get Local USA seeks to give local advertisers nationwide their own accessible space on the Net
She was just trying to make a little extra money working in her Cranberry Township home. But Michele Weigel's idea of creating community-based Web pages to advertise local companies and services is growing into much more than that.
Ms. Weigel has formed her own company, Get Local USA, which started as a living room operation but has established a national presence.
"I moved the couch, bought some more computers and started providing the service to people in other cities," she said. "It's really taken off."
The reason for the fast start, Ms. Weigel believes, is a huge gap in services for small businesses in cyberspace.
