May 10 -- Sylvan Learning Systems Inc. has named Rosemary Papalewis western regional vice president of business development for its educational services division.
She will oversee the company's contracts with public schools and direct the development of its teacher-training programs in California, based from the company's Fair Oaks office.
Papalewis, 48, served as assistant vice chancellor of academic affairs for the California State University system from 1997 until July of 1998. Prior to that, she was the executive director for inter-institutional relations under then-Chancellor Barry Munitz.
