Success of container management experiment likely to lead to arrangements with Eastern carriers
Satisfied with its yearlong foray into container management, intermodal marketing company Hub Group Inc. has extended its lease agreement with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway for Hub's Premiere Service Network.
Last year the IMC leased 2,000 48-foot containers from BNSF in an effort to increase customer service and reliability through greater control of equipment. Hub's incentive to increase the equipment's utilization benefits BNSF in the same way.
