Sports Rack Vehicle Outfitters, the Sacramento-based retailer of vehicle racks and accessories, plans to enter two new markets and add another store locally.

The nation's largest rack specialty chain, with 10 stores, Sports Rack expects to open a dozen locations over the next four to five years.

The business also is looking into licensing agreements for independent operators who want to open stores east of the Rockies, said Greg Bauer, chief executive officer and president of Bauer Industries, the management company that owns Sports Rack and its manufacturing division, Bauer Vehicle Gear.

Denver and Portland are the first two new markets. Sports Rack is negotiating a lease for a store in Denver and hopes to open there in June. Boulder …
