Apr. 30 -- Two powerful medicines that help diabetics better use their own insulin are poised to enter the U.S. market following preliminary Food and Drug Administration approval last week.
The drugs, however, may flourish at the expense of Warner-Lambert Co.'s Rezulin, a diabetes treatment used by 1.6 million people that, in rare circumstances, has been linked to death or liver failure. Which of the drugs will emerge as the leader is unclear, analysts and doctors said Thursday.
