The One-Billionth Barrel Monument, a popular recreational area in the oil town of Seria remains closed to the public following a recent 'incident' of what was thought earlier as a gas leak at one the oldest oil wells in Brunei.
The affected area is identified as Well 523 and located near the famous Seria landmark. It was commissioned several years ago by Brunei Shell Petroleum Company to mark Brunei's achievement of producing the one-billionth barrel oil since it was first discovered some 60 years ago.
