Executive news: Eubanks leaves Symantec for Oblix
Longtime software industry veteran Gordon Eubanks has resigned from his chief post at Symantec to become president and CEO of Oblix, an Internet start-up that leverages directory services for the creation of electronic-business applications.
Eubanks, who has been at Symantec's helm for the past 15 years, plans to stay at the company until it names a new president. Eubanks said Symantec has been conducting a talent search for this position since January (when Eubanks originally decided to leave Symantec in search of new challenges), but no time frame was given for an actual changing of the guard.
