Vencor to sell De Paul Hospital.(Vencor Inc.)

For the second time in two years, the former De Paul Hospital is for sale.

Vencor Inc. of Louisville, Ky., is selling the former drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as part of the company's efforts to shrink its Milwaukee hospital services.

Instead of renovating De Paul, Vencor will concentrate on providing hospital services at its Greenfield hospital on 108th Street.

Vencor also will close its 60-bed long-term acute care hospital on the campus of Mount Cannel Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield.

The hospital and nursing home operator bought the former De Paul Hospital from Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin in May 1997. …
