BERNAMA THE MALAYSIAN NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY: BIMB HOLDINGS POSTS HIGHER GROUP PROFIT .

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- BIMB Holdings Bhd posted a group profit of RM29.2 million before tithe (zakat) and taxation for half-year ended Dec 31, 1998, an increased of 99.56 percent from the previous corresponding period of RM14.6 million.

It's operating income also increased 13.55 percent to RM135.7 million from RM119.5 million, previously, said BIMB in an interim report released here today.

The net earnings per share stood at 4.61 sen against 1.31 sen previously.

BIMB Holdings is not recommending interim dividend for the half-year.

With some signs of economic recovery, it expects to perform better in the second half, said BIMB …
