Developers pick The Woodlands for pair of major office projects: Hewitt Associates creating campus, Anadarko constructing tower.(Houston, TX)

The Woodlands has snagged a pair of prodigious tenants who plan to construct more than two million square feet of office space in the flourishing borough north of Houston.

Hewitt Associates is moving forward with a massive 1.3 million-square-foot office campus on 77 acres of land overlooking Lake Woodlands. And earlier this month, Anadarko Petroleum Corp. unveiled plans to construct an 800,000-square-foot office tower at the intersection of Interstate 45 and Lake Robbins Drive.

Anadarko's plans are preliminary. The independent exploration and production company won't move to The Woodlands from its 450,000-square-foot Greenspoint facility until 2002. But the …
