Being an environmentally conscious energy manager is about paying attention--and not just to the pervasive bottom-line outlook on doing business. Sure, saving energy will make the bean counters in your organization happy, and using less energy, of course, will generally have a positive environmental impact in terms of fewer pollutants released into the environment. In other words, what many companies already are doing for the benefit of profit margins coincidentally saves energy and has a positive environmental impact--even if those policies were not specifically instituted with environmental goals in mind.
