A low-profile Baltimore contracting company that built some of Maryland's best-known buildings - the Baltimore Arena and University of Maryland's Byrd Stadium among them - is on the comeback trail.
BCI Contractors, the Fells Point company started by Victor Frenkil 54 years ago, just snagged its largest deal in 20 years: a $90 million contract to build a wallboard manufacturing plant in Kentucky.
Sal Manfre, BCI's vice president of operations, said he hopes the contract restores BCI's place in the construction industry.
"This is an eye-grabber that that will call attention, not only on the local level, but nationwide," Manfre said.
