THE annually-held Malaysian International Furniture Fair 1999 (Miff '99) has helped local furniture makers to diversify their respective markets, hence making them stronger international players.

Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Kerk Choo Ting said the show, with its growing numbers of international visitors-cum- furniture buyers, opens up new markets for local furniture makers.

"This helps them to promote their furniture products to other international markets rather than relying solely on the traditional ones, he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur after touring the Miff '99 yesterday.
