KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 (Bernama) -- The Renong conglomerate has today concluded a debt restructuring proposal with the Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee (CDRC) which will enable Renong to recoup and get back into business, an analyst of a local bank backed brokerage said.

"The debt restructuring proposal seemed acceptable and would give Renong some room to breathe as it stretches Renong's debt repayment seven years further down the road," she said.

With the proposal, Renong and its 37.1 percent associate company, United Engineers (Malaysia) Bhd (UEM) will be able to increase the value of its assets as the economy improves and handle the debts at a later …
