Feb. 19 -- SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. -- ARROYO DRUG STORES TO BE COMBINED: Rite-Aid will consolidate its two stores in Arroyo Grande, similar to a plan expected to be carried out in Atascadero.

Corporate spokesperson Allison Costello said, however, there are no plans to combine the two stores in Morro Bay.

The consolidations is part of Rite Aid's aggressive remodeling and relocation program, said Costello. The issue came about as a consequence of last year's merger with Thrifty and Payless. The company was then bought by Rite Aid, the nation's largest drug store chain.
