Dionex Corp.'s (1228 Titan Way, Box 3601, Sunnyvale, CA 94086-3803; Tel: 408/481-4459) EG40 eluent generator addresses the issue of off-line preparation of eluents, a tedious and error-prone process that can lead to less than perfect separations. The EG40 eluent generator electrolytically produces high purity acid or base eluents on-line for ion chromatography. It uses deionized water as the carrier stream for either isocratic or gradient ion chromatographic separations.

In all, the system consists of a programmable current source (power supply), a DX-LAN automation interface, a degas tubing assembly, and a disposable eluent generator cartridge. The EluGen EGC-OH …
