Catalytica Reports 3rd Quarter Milestones.
Catalytica, Inc. (430 Ferguson Dr., Mountain View, CA 94043; Tel: 415/960-3000, Fax: 415/960-1027) reported a 29% increase in revenue during the third quarter and nine months ended Sept. 30. Revenues for the third quarter were $88,187,000, up from $68,305,000 a year ago. The increase reflected Catalytica Pharmaceuticals' acquisition of its Greenville, North Carolina manufacturing facility in 1997.
Net income for the quarter was $5,644,000 compared with $743,000 last year. Plant utilization remained steady in the third quarter, although the revenue level was somewhat lower than during the first two quarters of 1998 because of reduced materials content in the product …
