Theses and Dissertations Completed in Family and Consumer Sciences: 1997.

This article summarizes the 721 titles of theses and dissertations completed in family and consumer sciences in colleges and universities throughout the United States in 1997. The tables present information by institution and by subject matter.

Forty-four colleges and universities representing 29 states reported titles in 1997 (see Table 1). The institution reporting the greatest number of total titles during 1997 was Iowa State University. The total number of thesis titles reported in 1997 (N = 476) increased 15.2% from the number in 1996 (N = 413). The total number of dissertation titles reported (N = 245) reflects an increase of 23.1% from 1996 (N = 199) (see Table 2).
