Air stripping and vapor extraction are traditional technologies used for the removal of trichloroethene (TCE), perchloroethene (PCE), and other chlorinated VOCs from soil and groundwater. These remediation technologies produce a secondary waste stream of VOC contaminated air. Scientists at Arizona State University have developed a photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) method which has been commercialized by Zentox Corp. (2140 N.E. 36th Ave., Ocala, FL 34470; Tel: 352/867- 7482, Fax: 352/867-1320) to treat this VOC-laden air.
